The design of the space will be guided by the concept, “Breaking the Cycle,” which refers to humankind’s negative actions toward the environment. Ripple, among other companies, is breaking free of the outdated business practices that are not considered sustainable activities; therefore, the space will introduce and represent this evolving idea. The design will be sustainable, transparent, and honest in construction to represent Ripple’s eco-conscious efforts.

The space plan reflects Ripple’s values, incorporates adequate design solutions, has clear sight lines and circulation, is free of boundaries, and is educational to remind Ripple why they started. The overall layout was strategically planned: stacking the work departments, executive offices, and other public and private spaces.

The “Reef” includes both the IT and bicycle storage. The IT workstations include vibrant colors which make the space inviting. In addition, the bicycle storage and lockers provide the users with a functional space in which they can store their equipment. The bright color palette provides a sense of movement which mimics the motion made from the bicycles.

To reflect the concept of locally bare within the market, the materials and architectural features will be honest in construction. The space will strategically include unique zoning to promote fluidity throughout the interior. Through the use of proper wayfinding, a natural color palette, and opportunities for community involvement, the space will promote human wellness.

The overall space plan includes a variety of spaces, reflecting the survey results. Near the entrance of the space is the farmer’s market which allows customers to easily purchase fresh produce. In the center are twelve food vendors and a Picnic Hall for dinging and relaxing. Along the perimeter of the building are the retail spaces including boutiques and small shops for local businesses. In the back are the staff spaces, and upstairs is the adult activity center and lounge.

The Wine Tasting Lounge is a relaxing space which includes a tasting bar and a cozy lounge area. Guests can unwind as they enjoy their glass of wine and the company of others. This space also includes a door so it can be closed off for private events.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This project includes exploring solutions within the local community and making use of a pre-existing commercial building. It is important to the design team to provide a space that solves a local problem and provides the residents with a space that they will utilize. Therefore, the design team, which included fellow designers Marra Lopes and Samantha Kennedy, conducted research and distributed surveys. Based on the result, the designers recognized that Tallahassee lacks a place to buy locally grown products, produce, and spaces that promote human wellness. Thus, Local Harvest Marketplace began. It is to serve as a space that provides a farmer’s market, retail shops to support local small-scale businesses, an art studio, ten local food vendors, a fitness space, and an adult lounge which includes a cocktail bar, beer garden, wine lounge, and activity area. The space will serve as a community gathering area and will promote community involvement.

Transitions: both in life and the human experience, will guide the design of the space. Given that FSU Primary Health treats patients of all ages from the beginning of life through the end, transitions will inform the journey of both the patients and providers. This concept relates to the circle of life and the ways in which our bodies change or transition. The clinic will be a successful environment, promoting human wellness and serving as a launching pad into the evolving world of healthcare.

This diagram is utilized to orientate the users by analyzing paths, forms, and volumes. The main entrance into the clinic consists of a two-story volume, emphasizing its vertical form, and the primary and secondary entrances and emergency exits are depicted through the use of arrows. The Waiting Area and Community Room are also spaces emphasized by volume and consist of the second largest forms. The staff areas include smaller ceiling heights given the need for acoustical privacy.

The Staff Break Room provides the staff with a space to take a break from their bustling schedules. It includes a kitchen area to prepare food or a cup of coffee. The space supports the needs of the staff members by providing a variety of lounge seating options such as casual stools, sofas, or bistro seating options. This space serves as a gathering place for the staff and is often used for small gatherings too.
